Manual

The MD-2GB digital video recorder includes a high resolution color camera with selectable resolution of CIF or 4CIF and three image quality settings (Low-Medium-High).

The MD-2GB is truly a portable system that offers two options to supply power to the unit; either the included power adapter or four AA batteries (not supplied). The 1/4”-20 mounting hole is used with the supplied wall/ceiling mount or other customer defined options for covert placement may be used. With its low power consumption of only 2W, the AA batteries will last for several hours.

The recording configuration is menu driven with options for setting the recording schedule, recording only events or recording full time. The resolution and quality are also selected through the OSD menu. The two resolution options are VGA (640 x 480) or QVGA (320 x 240). When selecting the high resolution VGA setting the images per second are 1~12ips and when QVGA is selected the images per second are set 1~30ips. These record resolution settings are independent of the quality level settings.

Once the record resolution is determined the quality setting will affect the amount of recording time stored on the SD card. Please reference the storage capacity chart under specifications for additional information. The overwrite or full stop select switch is located on the back of the housing along with programming controls, video output connector and external power supply connection.

The high resolution camera employs an electronic shutter for a wide range of lighting conditions plus the auto white balance and auto gain controls provide the best possible pictures in a variety of scene applications. The camera’s image device is a 1/4” color CMOS sensor and is coupled with a 3.8mm F2.0 fi xed lens giving approximately a 45° horizontal angle of view. Motion detection is set up within this wide angle field of view by activating one or more blocks and selecting the proper sensitivity. Motion detection is used as an event to trigger recording and will extend the amount of recording time on the available storage media.
